Our Vision
By 2030, we hope every state in the United States will have a Book’n Success chapter that is working to place book vending machines in their local elementary schools.
Project Inspiration
“As someone who has always been passionate towards academics, it is my goal to enable children everywhere to succeed in school. Everybody deserves the chance and tools to learn how to read, which is the first key step to academic success.
70% of all incarcerated adults are unable to read. With crime rates rising in South Florida annually, I want to do my part to help make a difference. Over the past couple of years, I personally have experienced mall shootings and school lockdowns. I want to do everything in my power to keep my city safe.”

Statement of Need
According to the National Assessment of Adult Literacy
• 2/3 of students who cannot read proficiently by the end of the 4th grade will end up in jail or on welfare.
• Due to the pandemic, students at lower achieving schools fell further behind, widening the achievement gap between rich and poor.
What is Book’n Success?
Book’n Success is a vector to place book vending machines at Title 1 schools. A Title 1 school is defined as a state supplemental funding program for low-income students who may have burdens (eg., homelessness, poverty) that impedes access to accessing equitable education.
Once the elementary school receives a book vending machine, all school staff members will be trained to reward students for good behavior, acts of kindness, academic achievement, and better attendance with tokens that can be used to earn new books of their choice.
